Northeastern Poultry Congress Poultry Show

I have never seen so many different breeds of birds in my life.  This was an exciting day!

The event is held at the Big E in the Mallory building.  The bigger room was filled with rows and rows of birds.

Just look at all the birds!!! I tend to like the birds with poofy heads, so there are lots of pictures of poofy head chickens to share :)

Isn't she just beautiful!?

And this one... I just want to squeeze her to pieces.  We have two hens that have poofy feathers on their heads.  I love watching them in the coop.

Now isn't this next bird beautiful?!?!?!

Now, I knew there were bantam chicksn (we have 7) but I had no idea there were bantam ducks.  These are the cutest little things ever!  Jim and I might get some in the spring :)

How could you say no to this little one.  He has everything a duck can offer but in a tiny package :)

This next fella was very curious about my phone.  He liked the up close and personal shots...

At one point he pecked my phone.  Here is a video showing his curiosity.  You can also hear how busy the place was with all the birds :)

I don't blame this next bird.  She really must have been sleepy.  That or she wasn't up for a photo shoot.

I tried taking a picture of the next bird, but it wouldn't do her justice.  She has some very unique feathers around her head.

Besides ducks and chickens there were geese and turkeys.  I didn't get any pictures of the turkeys.  But I did of the geese.  I wanted to get an up close and personal shot of a goose, but I didn't think that was such a good idea.

Out of all the birds at the show this next bird was Jim's favorite.  I took the photo with the information so down the road when we are looking to get more birds we know which one to get.

Oh! There were also pigeons at the show.  This fella was all puffed up and strutting his stuff!

And last but not least, this pigeon I thought was really pretty with the curly feathers.

We did learn this year that Saturday is the better day to go to this two day show.  Hopefully next year the Mass Maple Annual Meeting/Show won't happen on the same day.
