New Maple Syrup Grades
Big changes are coming to the Massachusetts Maple Industry this year.
The well known grading system is getting a facelift. The International Maple Syrup Institute has worked hard at restructing the grading system. All of the United States and Canada will be using this new grading system. 2015 will be the first year Mass Maple Producers need to grade their syrup according to the new grades.
The new grades are as follows:
Grade A Golden Color with Delicate Taste
Grade A Amber Color with Rich Taste
Grade A Dark with Robust Taste
Grade A Very Dark with Strong Taste
The Mass Maple Association has made a new poster for the new grading sytem.

Now you will have to decide what your new favorite grade is. I know mine is the very dark. Yum yum!
